Cultural Affairs Mission Statement
The mission of the ATNI Cultural Affairs Committee is to revive, restore, protect, monitor,preserve, enhance and promote the traditional cultural and spiritual beliefs and values of individual Tribes of the Northwest. The work of the Cultural Affairs Committee will reflect the dignity, respect and integrity of Indian cultural values.
Elders Mission Statement
The American Indian Elderly represent the wisdom and knowledge of our tribal heritage and our tribal future. Their precious and valuable experience provides needed guidance for current and future tribal leadership. Tribes have a duty and responsibility to their future generations to seek, protect and preserve the wisdom and knowledge of their elders. The Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians will do everything in their power to assist tries in seeking, protecting and preserving this wisdom and knowledge for those yet unborn.
The Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians will serve to ensure that rights guaranteed through treaties, agreements and other laws and provisions for the benefit of our elders are carried out in a manner consistent in reaffirming their dignity, pride and respect through the concept of tribal sovereignty and self-determination.
