In 2019, the Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians, U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs, Portland State University’s Institute for Tribal Government, the Northwest Climate Adaptation Science Center, Michigan State University, University of Idaho, and the North Central Climate Adaptation Science Center have partnered to offer the Tribal Climate Camp (TCC) to support teams of tribal leaders, climate change coordinators, planners, and program managers to build skills, gather information, and develop tribal policy needed to address climate change impacts.
